I
was reading a magazine last week and came across an article. It was
4-5 page article. Usually my reading depends upon the length of article.
But the title of the article which made to read till last period. “The bankers who sold
their Ferrari”. Seems like the title was definitely taken from the famous book of
Mr. Robin Sharma “The monk who sold his Ferrari”.
The
article was all about the big bankers who sacrifice the sumptuous life
to get different ambition. Very much inspiring article. I remember the
one of the banker among that list. Mr.Vishwavir Ahuja…
This
person is MBA from IIM-A has almost 30 years of experience in banking
sector. He was working as MD and CEO of Bank of America, India
operations. Has huge package, company provided lavish accommodation, car
or I should say everything what a common man would desire to have in
his life. But he left the job to join one of the private sector bank as
CEO. I don’t know how many of us heard the name of the bank,
The
Ratnakar Bank Ltd. No need to mention that the remuneration in his
current organization will be very much less as compared to his Bank of
America’s remuneration. But he found it very much challenging to join
the bank. He is very much sure that with his experience the bank will
achieve the new height. He sacrifice all his luxuries to get the
ambitions he has. He is ready to adjust with lesser package. That was
really a tough and strong decision I would say.
I
am still confused about his decisions. How many of us can take such a
choice to follow their goals. We see colleagues switching their jobs,
projects or profiles like changing clothes. Everyone is running in this
rat race trying to get much bigger piece of cheese. But are we really
satisfied with what we are doing in our life. I agree there are some
responsibilities, duties which drags us from taking such bold decision.
But taking such abnormal turns makes you very much confident in life.
Though you fall on the first instance but it will give you very good
experience and give you a good vision. So lets get up and try to find
out what we really want to be in our life, what will make you satisfied
person…
The
dialog from film 3 idiots is also very much inspiring “Kamyaab nahi
Kabil hone ke liye padho… Kamyabi zak maar ke piche aayegi”
